Moses judged all the problems of the people himself. His father-in-law Jethro gave him council. He told Moses to appoint leaders to judge the people and only bring the difficult cases to Moses. In this way he would not get burned out. Moses took this council and appointed men of integrity to judge the people.
Even Moses, a man who spoke to God and was His instrument to perform many miracles, had become overloaded. He was doing too much. In the same way we often do too much. We have too many commitments and not enough time. Our health and sanity are left at the wayside to take care of others and the tasks we "HAVE TO DO". In reality we need to step back and look for men & women of integrity to help with our work.
Your children CAN learn to help with the housework. Do their rooms really HAVE to be immaculate? You CAN lessen your outside obligations (even with the church). What good are you when you are torn to bits and unable to fully commit yourself to anything? What you do you should do well. Don't allow yourself to be pulled to pieces to do too much. Step back and CHOOSE what is MOST important. You are only human after all.
Thoughts As I Read the Bible in 90 Days
I've decided to change my life by reading the Bible in 90 days. Each day I pray for God to reveal one truth to me as I read and I am relaying that truth to you here in my blog. Please feel free to join me and to ask any questions you may have as I find my path through the Bible in 90 days.

Day 4 (Exodus 1-15)
Even Moses, a man who did the will of God to save the Israelites wavered. He questioned that God chose him & that the Israelites would believe him. Then, in a burst of faith he picks up a snake. Next, he tells God he cannot do it because he stutters. God tells Moses that He will provide the words. Even to this Moses begs God to send someone else. God tells Moses to take Aaron to speak for him.
Isn't it sad how our faith can waiver? One minute we question God's direction in our lives. We think we can't do what He's asked & wonder what others will think. The next minute we are picking up snakes, turning water to blood, and parting the sea. Even in His anger in our inability to step out in faith God will make provisions...when we ask. Time & again God has done what His people ask. He saved the righteous from Sodom & Gomorrah. He gave Moses a mouthpiece.
What is holding your faith back? What can God do to help it grow? Ask for it & trust that He will provide!

Day 3 (Genesis 36-50) Thought #2
Sometimes things are hidden from us. We fear something bad that is meant for good. Joseph's brothers feared being brought to his home. They were certain they were to become slaves, but their brother who loved them was in fact going to shower gifts on them. They were to become blessed. Do not fear the worst. Remember that God guides your path and do not steal trouble from tomorrow.
Day 3 (Genesis 36-50)-Thought # 1
Genesis 37:21
Reuben kept his brother from death, but he did not say enough. As firstborn surely his brothers would have listened to him. He saved Joseph from death, but he did not stop his brother's misdeeds. He joined in hurting Joseph, just not to the degree originally intended. Then he was unable to save Joseph. Reuben had his chance & he missed it.
Sometimes, in our stupidity, we miss our chance. Remember, in some things there is only one shot. Ultimately God still worked through this situation, but what did Reuben live with? Surely the guilt ate at him. The Bible says "he ripped his clothes in despair". What things have you failed to do that caused you to despair?

Day 2 (Genesis 21-35)
Genesis 26:24
"I'll bless you and make your children flourish because of Abraham my servant"
God said this to Isaac. Because of Abraham's faith and obedience, not only his son, but his grandchildren were blessed.
Think what this could mean to your family. If you are the man/woman God calls you to be not only will your children be blessed, but your grandchildren also.
We work our whole lives to leave a monetary inheritance to our children. How much better is an inheritance of God's blessings?
Not only can I bless my precious 4-year-old, but I can know that the grandchildren I have yet to meet will also be watched over and blessed by the one true God.
So, God calls you today to be His child. Not only for yourself, but for your children and their children after them.

Day 1 (Genesis1-20)
Genesis 8:13
101 days Noah toiled on that ship. Surely it wasn't easy. No, it was hard work. It stunk. It was probably loud.
But, Noah followed God's call on his life and because of that he helped preserve the human race and ALL the animals of the earth!
God's calling may be difficult. It might even stink, but in the end following God's path can bring GREAT CHANGE!
That could be change for all creation, for millions, thousands, hundreds, or even just one. Maybe the change only occurs in you, but to God one is a HUGE number. To God YOU are ALL-IMPORTANT!
Ultimately the ONE is what God is waiting for, remember this when you feel small (or even when you feel BIG).
So, whatever your 'work' do it with all your heart and experience God's GREAT CHANGE! You WILL be AMAZED at what God can use 'little you' for!
